Compilation „Artur Rojek Selection OFF Festival” early at OFF Festival 2009.  6th – 9th of August, Mysłowice.

Some great news for all the fans of OFF Festival, the most important alternative festival in Poland. This year they are going to be given not only the special festival publication where they will have a chance to read about all the artists of this year`s line-up, but also a record. Actually two records. The official premiere of exceptional two-record compilation “Artur Rojek Selection OFF Festival” is taking place on the 31st of August 2009, but already between the 6th and 9th of August there is going to be a possibility to buy it in Mysłowice. During OFF Festival, the medley is going to be available earlier at Isound stand.

Whose records could be heard at the compilation? Both of the performers, who played at the previous editions of OFF Festival or within OFF Festival Club, as well as those whom Artur Rojek, the Artistic Director of the festival has invited to Mysłowice in 2009 and whose music is going to be played for the first time on some of festival`s five stages.

The record “Artur Rojek Selection.pl OFF Festival” is, as the name itself suggests, Artur Rojek`s choice of what most interesting and ambitious on Polish alternative scene. Next to already widely appreciated bands (Pustki, Skalpel, The Car Is On Fire, Ścianka or Silver Rocket) there are also artists who have been playing for a longer time but who are still beyond the “main trend” (George Dorn Screams, The Contemporary Noise Sextet or Jacaszek) or finally the representatives of “young power” in Polish music (Woody Alien, The Black Tapes, Hatifnats). For all those who are looking for some ambitious sounds “made in Poland” “Artur Rojek Selection.pl OFF Festival” is a compulsory position!

Attractive seems to be also the foreign part of the compilation - “Artur  Rojek Selection OFF Festival” – where there has been a place both for the displays of “Old Guard” as well as for the accomplishments of young artists about whom it was loud during the last months. One can find here Mogwai, The National i Britsh Sea Power, it means the bands that are already recognized to be the international stars, younger but already cult formations: Deerhof, Of Montreal and Iron And Wine, as well as this year`s debutants such as The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart or Micachu & The Shapes whom undoubtedly future belongs to and whom we are going to meet in several days in Mysłowice at OFF Festival 2009.

Similarly to OFF Festival itself, the compilation “Artur Rojek Selection OFF Festival” is a review of what is presently the most interesting on world music scene. It is a real delicacy for every lover of precisely selected alternative sounds.
