2009.11.19 Monotonix European tour promoting their last album "Where Were You When It Happened" (Drag City, 2009) has started 17th of November. For the finale Monotonix will play two concerts in Poland as a part of December edition of Off Festival Club series. The international guests of Off Festival Club are always supported by Polish musicians carefully selected by Artur Rojek, the artistic director of Off Festival. Wild and surprising Monotonix performance during this year’s edition of the festival will not be quickly forgotten. Polish musicians, who will perform with the unstoppable band from Israel, are the members of two amazing projects of Polish alternative music scene: Mitch and Mitch with Igor Krutogolov (PL, IL) and Bajzel (PL). Mitch and Mitch is a five-person duet, formed in 2002 by Mitch and Mitch. The band’s line-up includes James Boned Mitch, Mr. Bitch (formerly known as Mrs. Mitch – long story), and Serious Mitch. In 2003, Mitch & Mitch put out their legendary first album entitled “Luv Yer Country”, and last year they published “12 Catchy Tunes (We Wish We Had Composed)”, an eclectic record which features music composed by some of the long-forgotten or ignored giants who had a considerable influence on Mitch & Mitch’s own artistic path. Mitch & Mitch have caused havoc with their extraordinary show in countless cities across Poland (among them the historic ‘suicide gig’ at the Country Picnic festival in Mragowo in 2005) and Western Europe (the I.D.E.A.L festival in Nantes, France, or the supermarket tour of Portugal to name just two occassions). The future seems bright for Mitch & Mitch. No matter what, they intend to continue their Neverending Tour by demolishing clubs and stadiums alike, leaving no soul unaffected. There is no venue too small, no city too clean and no country too distant. Even Denmark. Igor Krutogolov, Israeli musician from the band Kruzenshtern & Parohod, witnessed one of the concerts of Mitch and Mitch. Krutogolov has been trying to revive a forgotten opera from 1913 „Love to three cockroaches” written by Zelig Rabitchnyak until he heard one of the songs performed by Mitch and Mitch! It was love at the first hearing. The musicians have spent two long recording sessions in Tel Aviv and the result of their hard work will soon see the light of the day. The audience at two Monotonix OFF Festival Club concerts will have privilige to hear the result of collaboration between Mitch and Mitch and Igor Krutogolv entitled „Love for three cockroaches”. BAJZEL – even if the name of the band is plural, it’s actually a solo project. His music sounds as if it was recorded by the full band but he’s the only one playing all instruments and creating all effects: guitar sounds, drums, rhythms, loops. Oh and he sings and writes his own lyrics too. He also has invented his own musical genre, very eclectic and messy which he calls bajzel (meaning: mess). Bajzel appeared on the alternative music scene in 2004 but the mastermind of the project has been around for much longer playing in such bands as: Stacja Kosmiczna-Gniazdo Konia and Napszyklat. His debut album was called „Bajzel” and was released in 2007 by Biodro Records. Bajzel played at OFF Festival in 2008 and anybody who hasn’t seen him back then, has a chance to do it now during two OFF Festival Club concerts.
