The first artists of OFF FESTIVAL 2009. Carnets and tickets already on sale.

Between the 6th and 9th of August 2009 in Mysłowice, already for the fourth time is going to be held Artur Rojek`s OFF Festival, the most important alternative music festival In Poland. The special guest is going to be Jonathan Poneman, the boss of legendary record company SUB POP from Seattle, the editor of among others Nirvana, Mudhoney, Soundgarden or recently Fleet Foxes.

               5 stages and over 60 artists. These are the first of them:
 
SPIRITUALIZED (UK), THE NATIONAL (USA), FUCKED UP (CAN), THE THERMALS (USA), JEREMY JAY (USA), THE WEEK THAT WAS (UK), HEALTH (USA), CRYSTAL ANTLERS (USA), ÓLAFUR ARNALDS (Iceland) and LECH JANERKA playing the album "HISTORIA PODWODNA”.

Spiritualized (UK) -The legendary formation of Jason Pierce. The masters of space rock. The authors of critical album "Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space" from 1997  are coming back with new album entitled "Songs In A & E" (Castle, 2008) http://www.myspace.com/spiritualized

The National (USA) - One of the most popular guitar bands from USA. Incredible baritone of Matt Berniger. The album “Boxer” (Beggars Banquet, 2007) –one of the best in summations of the year

The Thermals (USA) - Post-punk legend from USA. Now Kill Rock Stars, then Sub Pop. In April their latest album "Now We Can See" has been released.

Health (USA) - Noise rock from California. They have collaborated with Crystal Castles and have played the tour with Nine Inch Nails. They recorded a great album entitled "Health" (Lovepump Unites, 2008). The second one is promoted by the single "Die Slow".

Crystal Antlers (USA) - The mixture of funk, punk, psychedelics and noise. After the EP "Crystal Antlers" (Touch&Go, 2008) the indie media became crazy. They are promoting their released in April album entitled "Tentacles"(Touch&Go,2009)

Ólafur Arnalds (Iceland) - Extremely beautiful music of the 21-year-old from Iceland. Delightful debut with "Eulogy for Evolution" (Erased Tapes, 2007), EP "Variations of Static" (ET, 2008) and tour together with Sigur Rós. Lech Janerka is playing the album entitled "Historia Podwodna" - One of the most important figures for music in Poland after two years of break is coming back to the stage. On the 19th of April in Bezsenność club in Wrocław is going to be held OFF Festival Club and first in Eastern Europe concert of The Butthole Surfers.
